The National Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination Program Register

VCS Foundation, together with the Department of Health, established the National HPV Vaccination Program Register (HPV Register) in 2008 to support the National HPV Vaccination Program funded by the Australian Government.

From 30 September 2016, the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) became a whole of life register with the ability to record all vaccinations for people of all ages given by a registered vaccination provider, including HPV vaccine doses.

As part of the transition to a whole of life register, during late 2018 all HPV vaccination records held in the HPV Register were transferred into the AIR. For further information see the Frequently Asked Questions.

The HPV Register closed on 31 December 2018.

Vaccination providers need to report all HPV vaccinations to the AIR.  AIR Immunisation History Statements now include HPV vaccination information.
